It is substantial without being too hard, soft enough to be comfortable without being too soft, absolutely no lumps! The outside cover is removable to allow for machine washing and is so soft to the touch. There is a handle on the back that makes it easy to move. Bedrest arrives vacuum-packed in a box much smaller than anticipated, but quickly expands to "size", with a longer than usual backside and what appears to be a slightly narrower seating area. " Rest" is very comfortable and thick padding ensures it adequately supports your back. Appearance-wise, the material is somewhat wrinkled/creased (due probably to packaging) and yellow (which is color I got) is a little darker than pictured, with a bit of an orange tint. Carry-handle and arm pockets are appreciated features of convenience. Overall, I'm happy with purchase and look forward to many years of comfortable lounging.
