Awesome Boardsโฆ.BUT the Smell!!!!
Color: Carbonized, Size: 3-piece
Iโd love to give these 5 stars, they are heavy, well made, smooth, deep juice grooves, just niceโฆ.but the smell! I washed them, then used vinegar on them, set them outside over night, washed them againโฆ.its better but still present. Iโd love some guidance on this. Iโm hoping it goes away in a few days. Itโs like a very strong woodsy smell that actually made my whole kitchen smell like these boards!
Edit: Ok, here's what I did. Washed, let dry, coated and scrubbed with apple cider vinegar, set them in a high air flow area for 24 hours (I put mine outside on the patio over night), washed and scrubbed again, let dry, scrubbed with lemons and salt, let dry, washed again. Finally, there is still a slight smell if you push them against your nose but that seems to be fading as well. So, great boards if you want to go stubbornly go through the smell removal process. I don't think it's a chemical smell, I think it's processed bamboo that is shrink wrapped in air tight packaging too soon after manufacturing. Anyway, I'll move this to 4 stars....but lots of work involved here!
