While it is a bit thick, that can be great for sweaty summer activities (also it's purpose)! It does not leave a white cast (on me, though I am pale, I have experienced this with other sunscreens) and smells okay, not great but like a sunscreen would be expected to. This is my favorite new mineral sunscreen! I've been searching for years for a product that is easy to apply, not messy, and doesn't show up too white. This roll-on is the perfect solution. I keep it near the front door and quickly roll the sunscreen on my hands, arms, and chest before leaving the house. Finally, the roll-on method also eliminates the frustration of having half-filled tubes and pumps where you can't even access the sunscreen when the tube gets low.
