Mariam or Miriam stone is a trade name for a variety of jasper found near the Himalayas in India. The Yellow features are broken fossilised shells in a beautiful rich red conglomerate stone. The different areas are slightly different harnesses, making for a beautiful texture on the polished piece.

The Rainbow Fish was my absolute favorite book when I was little, so I had to get it for my kids too.
